Day -1: It begins, now. I'm trying an experiment for the next 30 days starting tomorrow.

The goal is simple. I will exclusively do things that I don't want to.

It feels like I am hardstuck in life, and if I change nothing, nothing will change.

Sunday, April 19, 2026

Day 0: Beginnings are always easy. Already down to doing 3 things I did not want to do:

1. wake up at 5am, only slept for like 5 hours, but it's all good.

2. 7500 steps morning walk, didn't want to do a lot in 1 day.

3. "post" on social media

will post again at EOD, let's go!

Quoted post

Good -

1. Resisted temptation to eat junk food

2. Decided to finally read through ropes paper and write a basic implementation of it.

3. Successfully posted this update.

4. Figured out a plan for better health, hopefully I stick to it.

2/3

Bad-

1. Couldn't stop idling the entire afternoon and evening.

2. Still wasting an unhealthy amount of time on YouTube and twitch.

So the goal for tomorrow is to not repeat these again.

That's all, good night!

3/3

Day1: woke up a little late, 7700 steps morning walk done. And this is the post. I think I will do one new extra thing I didn't want to do today.

Will post about it again at EOD, let's go!

Quoted post

Alright, I still couldn't figure out how to fix bad points from the last day. One more day lost in idling.

I need to do something about it way quicker.

Night.

Tuesday, April 21, 2026

Day2: slept late last night, so woke up late (6:30am), completed 7300 steps of morning walk. The days have been tiring, after a year of averaging at most 100 steps a day like radiant couch potato, this is a significant jump in physical activity. Goal is to get to 10K/day soon.

Quoted post

I'm still not able to figure out how to make afternoons productive, I feel really tired, and keep idling. I also don't have answers on how I can reduce twitch/youtube. These ones are more addictive, so will require more work to resist against. Hm, let's see. I'll post again at the EOD.

Okay, here's some progress. I managed to not idle this afternoon and evening. I went down the rabbit hole of how strings are internally implemented in various JS engines, since I am writing a blog post about ropes data structure.

I still felt tired in the afternoon but instead of taking a nap, I took a coffee and forced myself to resist for a while just to see how impossible it is. Now I have to do this again, and again, and a bunch of other times after that.

Night!

Wednesday, April 22, 2026

Day3: apparently my sleep is adapting to 2330 to 0630 now, which is a good thing. I woke up at around 6:30am today, and completed 7724 steps of morning walk. Now on to solving the daily LC problem, and then finishing up the blog post.

Quoted post

I also need to find and buy some affordable AI sub, I ran out of the cheaper zai's GLM coding plan. Let's see. Will post again at EOD.

EOD update -

I was able to not idle today's afternoon/evening/night. I'm almost finished with my blog post about rope strings, and I also refactored my website's. No visual changes, it was code-refactor. Took a bit of time, it's 12 am, so I'll probably wake up late tomorrow (i mean today.)

Thursday, April 23, 2026

Day4: Another day, woke up at 6:30 am, and completed 8542 steps today because I was feeling it. That's ~1.5k surplus from my goal, yay!

Quoted post

The goal for today is to finish the daily LC problem, and know more about these buzz words people been throwing around since the past few years: MCPs, Agents, RAG and what not. Let's see how it goes.

Also tweaked my website a bit more today after finding out `acumin-pro` is rendered horribly differently in firefox and in chrome. Check screenshots for side by side comparison.

I wanted the behavior of Firefox(left), and thought maybe I'm missing some CSS magic. There's no magic. I have migrated to a different font that renders similar in Chrome, Firefox and Safari. There's still little differences but it's now mostly similar.

Friday, April 24, 2026

Day5: Another day, woke up at 6 am today, and completed 8258 steps again, woohoo! I think 8k will be the new default in a few days. Feeling tired already and the day is not even started. Let's see.

Quoted post

EOD Update: I couldn't resist idling today, felt completely exhausted all day, so not much to share, except the daily LC problem. Need more energy I think. Will need to figure out a way.

Small milestone - 500 problems solved LeetCode. Here's to another 500 in this year? 🫠

Saturday, April 25, 2026

Day6: Another day, woke up at 6 am and completed 8010 steps in the morning walk. Couldn't post earlier in the morning because I think bsky was down. It's almost evening now, and I've been trying to fix the issue of not being able to login to sway from sddm. (rn I login from tty).

Quoted post

Finally fixed my login manager on my linux laptop. I have Ubuntu with KDE Plasma and Sway, and I SDDM couldn't boot into sway was broken. Migrated to LightDM + LightDM-GTK-Greeter, and it's all working correctly now.

For past ~3 months I was doing

-> SDDM

-> press ctrl+alt+f3 for tty

-> enter username

-> enter password

-> start sway

-> Done

Now it's

-> LightDM

-> enter password

-> Done.

As it should've been from the get go.

Sunday, April 26, 2026

couldn't post yesterday EOD update yestreday, because I was feeling low and down after reading how badly career breaks are treated in India.

Day7: Another day, woke up at 6:30am and completed 7700 steps in the morning walk. That marks 1 successful week for this new framework. Hopefully I get to two digit days now.

Quoted post

Couldn't find time to do LC yesterday, it was a hard problem. I'll probably spend an hour or two to try and solve it today, if not I'll read the editorial and implement.

Monday, April 27, 2026

Day8: Another day, woke up at 5am, and slept again until 6am. Completed 8605 steps in the morning walk, because I was feeling like it. Now I've introduced 2 - 100m jogs in between, goal is to get to a 1km non-stop jog. Let's see how it goes.

Quoted post

I think I'll spin up deepseek v4 flash to create a script that backs up these tweets from bsky to either a db or a git repo, maybe have a cron job that runs this script once in 48 hours, and then render them later in a webpage, chronologically, I wish "sort by oldest first" was a thing in bsky.

Added a calendar for easier navigation, and modals for image preview. It's fun doing trivial web stuff with dumb AI model. The "Idea -> prod" is just a couple of sentences, I could've never imagined this being possible before 2020.

Tuesday, April 28, 2026

Day9: woke up at 6 am, completed 8615 steps in morning walk which now includes ~400m of jogging in between. But I don't feel tired today. Maybe my resilience is building, which means I need to up the game.

Quoted post

Let's see what we have in our LeetCode Daily store today. I'm almost on a streak there too, but I couldn't solve that one hard problem from ~3-4 days ago, about choosing k points on a square with max. minimum manhattan distance. I forgot about it, maybe today I'll give it a try again.

Alright, today's LC problem was interesting. I needed a small hint. Couldn't do much outside of it. Today was a slow day. Demotivation from the career gap all day long. I'm changing slowly and still trying to keep up the promise I made on the first day here, but it's been difficult so far. Night.

Wednesday, April 29, 2026

Day10: woke up at 6:30 am, I was feeling low today. Like nothing has changed whatsoever, still felt like not getting out of bed. I need to figure out why that is. Anyway, managed to do 8870 steps, no jog.

Quoted post

Thursday, April 30, 2026

Day11: woke up at 6:30 am, completed 8867 steps. Couldn't jog today, leg hurts or I'm just being lazy. Maybe it's the sun, it gets hot real quick if I'm late, maybe I should go an hour early.

Quoted post

By the way, I think yesterday was one-off. One thing I have noticed is ever since I've started this I'm overall happier compared to the previous days. Hopefully it stays that way.

I'm still in "honeymoon period", I've been here before. The goal is to getting past Day 24, because that's my last record streak of "changed" routine. So, I'm waiting for this milestone, hope I don't give up before that.

I still need to figure out productivity more. I used to be productive ~10 hours a day back in 2019-2021, now it feels like one LC problem and a couple of PRs is all I've got in me, and sometimes even that is too much to ask for. This needs to change. I'll see how I can fix this.

I think I've decided what I'm going to spend next few days on. I've been avoiding rust since 2019, because I already know C enough and C++ a little bit. I want to go back to learning like it's 2019 again. I don't care if LLMs write better rust than me, I all I care is that I understand it well.

Main goal of this is an attempt to get "oh that's really exciting" feeling back again, it's been lost, and I've been feeling hopeless since the advent of LLMs. Let's go!

Alright, done with today. I'm glad I'm able to solve straight forward dp problems now, e.g. today's LC problem, but I'm still feeling short of solving harder problems. Today felt productive overall. Night :)

Friday, May 01, 2026

Day12: woke up at 5 am, had to be somewhere in the morning so couldn't complete my steps in the morning. In the evening walk, I completed 7800 steps. Hence no tweet in the morning. This was not because of laziness, so it's all good. The day has been slow though. Not much done. Night.

Quoted post

Saturday, May 02, 2026

Day13: woke up at 6:30 am, completed 9028 steps of the morning walk. yay! 9k steps today + 1 sprint. let's go! I'm on chapter 4 of the rust book, hopefully I close out ~2 chapters today. Most of it makes sense once I read it so I think I can go faster.

Quoted post

I forgot cloudflare caches everything, even the http servers exposed through cloudflare tunnels, wasted a lot of time to realize this.

Anyway, all good now. I'll go check if today's LC is a medium or not.

I think LC intentionally gives harder problems on weekends.

Your boy can solve 90% of mediums now, that too within 30 minutes. LFG.

Sunday, May 03, 2026

Day14: woke up early today, 5:30 am, completed 9181 steps of the morning walk, yes, 9k seems like a new default now. let's go! I couldn't spend time on rust book yesterday, spent my time developing a UI for LG's WebOS.

Quoted post

Yesterday's LC problem accepts brute force, but there's digit DP solution as well, which is currently on my backlog. I'll clear that backlog soon. I think I'm also going to start devlog kind of blog posts on my website, maybe weekly, since yapping about them on here wouldn't be easy to manage.

Today's ideal TODOs:

1. Add "today" "this month" "this year" buttons to chronobsky.

2. Cleanup code for webos support of jiotv_go and get it merged, re-review glesha's PR, and get it merged

3. At least 2 sections of the rust book

4. Today's LC problem if it's not hard

5. Write devlog 0x001

Alright. Only managed to do 1. Spent more time making it more configurable at build time . Couldn't look at LC today.

So, horrible day so far. Night.

Monday, May 04, 2026

Day15: woke up at 6 am and completed 8972+100=9072 steps of the morning walk. I forgot to post this in the morning, I had opened the app to create a new post but then something came up. Been busy all day working on tweaking my personal website.

Quoted post

I cannot believe font rendering on Linux is still an unsolved problem. The text just doesn't look as good as my macbook air. Maybe it's not a fair comparison but still. I wasted about 2 hours with getting the "fontconfig" right, I have settled for less, it's probably not worth it.

I was unable to solve LC 396. I'll think about it later, even though these "I'll do this later" things are now getting out of hands. Anyway, today was very productive overall. I did all the changes to my website I've been meaning to do for a very long time. It's all good now, hopefully.

Tuesday, May 05, 2026

Day16: woke up at 6:30 am and completed 9225 steps of the morning walk. I still have sore legs, idk I thought it would go away after some time but it still aches. Anyway, resilience is up now, I don't feel tired at all, even with including 100m jogs, which means I need to up my game soon.

Quoted post

Okay, I'm overpromising my TODOs in the morning and end up doing something completely different so I won't say what I'll be doing today. I'll just update at EOD.

Wednesday, May 06, 2026

Day17: woke up at 5:30am and completed 9406 steps of the morning walk. Feels good to be able to average 9k steps a day now. Couldn't get myself to do LC daily yesterday. Hopefully I'll do both today.

Quoted post

Thursday, May 07, 2026

Day18: woke up at 5:30am again, and completed 9046 steps of the morning walk. tbh I think I have walked same as yesterday, so around ~9.4k steps but my cheap ass watch can't count steps correctly when I run in-between. Sad life, but it is what it is.

Quoted post

I'm working on getting the WebOS support PR ready for my jiotv_go fork, refactoring to make it maintainable with upstream changes.

Ayy, finally some benefit of adding sentry to my backend server. I wonder if I should add even stricter rate-limits or outright block them from cloudflare if the request doesn't match my API routes. Hmm.

Hmm, once again already solved LC daily problem, good problem. I think I'll spend some time the one that I missed a few days ago.

Okay, cleared backlog of pending daily LC problems since 1st may, solved LC 396 and LC 61. 61 is trivial impl. 396 took some time to come up with prefix sums. After reading the editorial it was clear that prefix sums are not even needed. Good progress!

Friday, May 08, 2026

Day19: woke up at 5:30am, and completed 9026 steps of the morning walk. I ran more than I did yesterday again and checkpoints are the same checkpoints I had at 9.4k steps (when I didn't run), so I think it's safe to say I did ~9.4k steps. The point is I'm now consistently doing 9k+ steps.

Quoted post

My legs don't hurt much anymore, and I'm not that tired too. So all is good. :)

Alright off to doing today's LC daily, and then reading the rust book.

Been working on improving things on my website since above reply. Maybe I shouldn't spend this much time in something that doesn't matter much.

I wish I had looked into tailscale earlier. Amazing tech if you have more than one device. I have a linux laptop, a macbook and a raspberry pi, and ssh-ing into one another was unnecessarily difficult.

Now it's trivial.

You could even add A or CNAME records to your domain and you don't even have to remember IP addresses anymore. And only devices in the tailnet can access the other devices via tailscale so that's nice.

Saturday, May 09, 2026

Day20: woke up at 5:30am, and completed 9185 steps of the morning walk. (actual 9.4k). Don't feel tired at all now. Idk if I should increase running more or start evening walk, which one would be more beneficial. Hmm. Off to checking out LC daily.

Quoted post

Hmm, it's enabled by default, I just didn't know this(right) was possible so i wrote a helper bash function(left) to achieve the same thing. No longer needed I guess. Thanks!

Sunday, May 10, 2026

Day 21: woke up at 5:30 am and completed 9746 steps of the morning walk. (Still actual ~9.4k, maybe the steps were smaller or the watch is hallucinating, I walked the same markers, just didn't do the third run.

Quoted post

Monday, May 11, 2026

Day22: woke up at 5:30 am and completed 9185 steps of the morning walk. Was feeling low today, couldn't run much, so didn't hit the usual markers. Will see how the rest of the day goes.

Quoted post

I've already lost my daily LC streak for the month, even after clearing backlog, there's only so many "travel back in time" tickets you can buy for a month, and I hate "just impl" type of problems, but it's all good. I'll clear the backlog again.

Tuesday, May 12, 2026

Day23: woke up at 6 am and completed 9385 steps of the morning walk. Couldn't get myself to run today, same markers. It means my cheap watch has +-10% deviation.

Quoted post

Wednesday, May 13, 2026

Day24: woke up late, 6:45 am, completed only 3836 steps of the morning walk. I was too tired, wanted to complete 9k again in the evening, but now it has started raining. I'll see if an umbrella helps. Laziness has costed me.

Quoted post

Took an umbrella with me, but it stopped raining after like 5 minutes from my first tweet and hasn't rained since. The main reason I gave up midway in the morning was because of the sun, it's too hot.

Thursday, May 14, 2026

Day 25: woke up at 5:15 am, and completed 9716 steps of the morning walk. Off to a good start already. Btw yesterday I broke my last longest streak(24 days) of doing x things everyday, and posting about it on bsky seems to have made a significant difference.

Quoted post

Friday, May 15, 2026

Day 26: woke up at 6 am, and completed 9314 steps of the morning walk. I'll admit I haven't been doing much this past few days, hopefully that changes now.

Quoted post

Saturday, May 16, 2026

Day 27: woke up at 5:40 am and completed 9358 steps of the morning walk. I have increased the markers IRL a little bit but it's still within +-10% of my cheap watch's error range so not really reflecting in the step count. I think it's time I increase the markers to 10K steps.

Quoted post

Sunday, May 17, 2026

Day 28: woke up at 6 am and completed 9753 steps of the morning walk. Forgot to post in the morning, it was busier than usual because of Sunday.

Quoted post

It's funny how when vibecoding a C and GTK app, the LLMs automatically assume email as

<username>@proton.me

I have never ever used protonmail with LLMs.

Monday, May 18, 2026

Day 29: woke up at 5:40 am and completed 9422 steps of the morning walk. This is officially 30 days now. Let's go! Hopefully I get to 3 digits. :^)

I think I should clear my LC daily backlog today.

Quoted post

90MB for a single window of GTK4 (with software rendering, with opengl it's 145 MB)

Memory is freeeeeeeeeee

Tuesday, May 19, 2026

Day 30: woke up at 5:15 am and completed 100017 steps of the morning walk. Yay! first 10k steps in one go. I have increased markers IRL. Didn't run today though, legs hurt too much.

Quoted post

Wednesday, May 20, 2026

Day 31: woke up at 6 am and completed 10184 steps of the morning walk. One more day of the original goal, 10k steps a day. Hopefully I keep this up, i have increased IRL markers even more than yesterday. Guess I really wanted to make sure I get 5 digits on my watch lol🙈 (+-10% accuracy)

Quoted post

Thursday, May 21, 2026

Day 32: woke up late today, at 6:45 am and completed 10293 steps of the morning walk. Luckily it was cloudy so not much heat. Also strangely I slept really well too, it's the best sleep I've had in the recent months.

Quoted post

Now added "this query is a follow up" checkbox, this is still slower than googling but now way less laggy than all the websites that allow you to chat with LLMs.

Meta+x -> type the query -> ctrl+enter to submit -> done

Quoted post

I need to do something about query times. It still takes upwards of 20 seconds (I don't stream the text, show it after it's streamed completely). I don't know how much of this is the latency of opencode servers.

Friday, May 22, 2026

Day 33: woke up at 5:45 am and completed 10409 steps of the morning walk, increased markers IRL a bit because I was feelin it today, it shows in the high step count. Been busy figuring out distributing the GTK app on github, aur, apt, rpm. It's been very interesting.

Quoted post

So far I'm using virt-manager to boot into live ISO of endeavor (arch), fedora kde spin and ubuntu xfce. And the releases are working on all 3. Yay!

netcat is amazing.

`nc -lk 1212` on host machine, and `cat clipboard | nc <ip> 1212` on client, comes in handy when you want to share text from inside of vm to host. No need to keep fixing spice vdagent for every distro in the VM. :^)

Saturday, May 23, 2026

Day 34: woke up at 6 am and completed 10563 steps of the morning walk. So, finally up to 10K steps a day, going strong. Couldn't post in the morning, I opened it to post and then something came up and forgot about it.

Quoted post

Sunday, May 24, 2026

Day 35: woke up at 5:45 am and completed 10481 steps of the morning walk. Still holdin up with 10K steps now, I'm not that tired even with 10K steps now, the legs just hurt a little bit.

Quoted post

Now added vertical split and can pop-out the output text area too. The ability to ask LLMs for structured output and a predefined marks for line numbers to copy it quickly is so handy. I'll probably add tabs next. Still in "works on my machine" levels of stability though: https://github.com/toxdes/promptr

Monday, May 25, 2026

Day 36: woke up late today, 7:15 am and 10365 steps of the morning walk, way too hot but still did it. Feeling really down since yesterday :(

Quoted post

Tuesday, May 26, 2026

Day 37: woke up at 4 am accidentally, slept again till 6 am, and completed 10505 steps of the morning walk. Still consistent with 10K steps. I need to reintroduce running in-between.

Quoted post

Wednesday, May 27, 2026

Day 38: woke up at 5:15 am, very early and completed 10758 steps of the morning walk. Can't introduce running back-in yet, legs hurt and just don't have the energy to run. I was barely able to complete the steps, need more resilience.

Quoted post

Thursday, May 28, 2026

Day 39: woke up at 6 am and completed 10683 steps of the morning walk. Forgot to post in the morning, was busy, and forgot to post later.

Quoted post

Friday, May 29, 2026

Day 40: woke up at 5:30 am and completed 10562 steps of the morning walk. Been working on checking if deepseek flash can port my gtk4 app (I've added persistent tabs now) to qt.

Quoted post

The main reason to use QT is cuz I want to ship a default theme with the app, and allow users to use theirs if they want to.

Me and deepseek both don't know how to do this with GTK4, the app looks nice on my machine but looks horrible on default xubuntu.

I don't want my app to look horrible.

Saturday, May 30, 2026

Day 41: woke up at 5:15 am in the morning and completed 10753 steps of the morning walk. Today was tiring, spent whole day trying to bundle a binary with webos ipk but couldn't. Why does it have to be so difficult LG?

Quoted post

Sunday, May 31, 2026

Day 42: woke up at 5:10 am but had to go somewhere so didn't do a morning walk. It's crazy, of all days it only rained today, and that too only when I wanted to do the walk in the evening. Anyway, completed 9649 steps of the evening walk, and around 1250 steps in the morning so 10899 steps total.

Quoted post

I had to wait out the rain, and it was already too late so I couldn't do the usual markers, hence the lower step count. I've hit weekly limits on the opencode to plan and already down 60% on the monthly usage. Sad lyf.

Monday, June 01, 2026

Day 43: woke up at 5:40 am and completed 10215 steps of the morning walk. Also weekly limits have been reset on the opecode go plan so I'll try to complete the gtk -> qt refactor today to see if it's actually worth it.

Quoted post

Tuesday, June 02, 2026

Day 44: woke up at 6:45 am, very late today, and completed 10116 steps of the morning walk. Sunlight even at 8 am is crazy hot, almost 30 more days and then it will be the rainy days :)

Quoted post

The experimental QT rewrite of the GTK4 app is now almost done, UI looks horrible rn, need to work on it. GTK4 version just looked clean and functional overall ngl.

After some more use, I'm leaning back against this QT rewrite at this stage. I think it's not worth it, GTK4 app is functional enough for now. I'll come back to this when I'll hit the limitations myself.

When Indians learn about twitter payouts...

all of my twitter feed is filled with posts like these it has literally become unusable. :(

Wednesday, June 03, 2026

Day 45: woke up at 5:30 am and completed 10215 steps of the morning walk. I slept late yesterday and woke up early because of the sun. The whole day I felt dizzy. Forgot to post this too. Night.

Quoted post

Thursday, June 04, 2026

Day 46: woke up at 6:30 am, and watch restarted midway and the progress was gone, this is so sad. It has never happened before, but luckily it's same markers IRL as yesterday, so I'll put it around 10200 steps of the morning walk.

Quoted post

Friday, June 05, 2026

Yesterday was spent resolving double frees and use after free, now the app is almost stable. I also tried bundling GTK.css from the sweet gtk theme, and it works, so that's really nice.

I think I'll ask someone with claude's max plan to do a review with opus and then fix the findings with my deepseek. I really want to try claude opus, what a time to be unemployed 😭

Saturday, June 06, 2026

Day 48: woke up at 5:15 am and completed 12138 steps of the morning walk. 2k extra because I felt like it.

Mostly because the weather was cloudy, it was cooler than usual because it had rained yesterday.

Man it feels so nice to not see the sun in the morning.

Quoted post

Sunday, June 07, 2026

Day 49: bad start of the day. Feeling really low, and just very very sad. Completed 7000 steps of the morning walk even though I didn't want to go at all.

Will this ever change I'm so tired of pretending things will get better but I have to try harder.

Quoted post

Monday, June 08, 2026

Day 50: woke up late today, at 7:30 am and completed 10511 steps of the morning walk. Mostly because the weather is nice and cloudy so no sun, so no heat. I hope the weather stays cloudy or even rainy for the upcoming few months, that'd be really really really really realllly nice.

Quoted post

btw, ended up completing 7500 more steps by the EOD, so it totals up to ~14k steps, so >10k. No streaks have been broken so far.

`opencode run` is returning empty response now, and my Promptr app I've been building has been unusable. I hate how low the bar of quality of software has been in these recent years. They provide free models so can't really stop depending on opencode cli.

Let's see how difficult it is to move to openrouter, I will only use deepseek flash for now because I cannot afford anything else.

Tuesday, June 09, 2026

Day 51: woke up at 6:30 am and completed 10052 steps of the morning walk. We're halfway through the 3 digits league, hopefully we get to the 3 digits soon. LFG!

Quoted post

I have got openrouter to a somewhat working state now.

I didn't know, for "follow up" queries, you need to maintain conversation history yourself. For n th reply in the conversation, you need to send all n-1 messages and the LLM replies, so that's where the "cached token" cost comes from. LOL.

Quoted post

Hmm. Do I have to steal "tool"s from opencode? Most common for my usecaaes are WebSearch and WebFetch - both sound like they must cost some money. Let me dig more.

Day 52: woke up at 6:30 am and completed 10819 steps of the morning walk. Clouds are gone, the sun was too hot I almost decided to quit halfway and redo entire 10k steps in the evening but somehow pushed through and completed. Couldn't post in the morning, I forgot.

Quoted post

Spent most of the time today in making switching providers from opencode to openrouter in the middle of a conversation, TIL a bit more about how "tool"s work. I want to support WebFetch and WebSearch for now, these 2 are essential when we talk to an LLM, plus openrouter also has some free LLMs too.

Day 53: woke up very late, 8 am in the morning. Couldn't do the morning walk because the sun was already way up I decided to do it in the evening but something came up. I'll be doing 12k steps in the morning and 12k steps in the evening as a compensation. First black day.

Day 54: woke up at 5:10 am in the morning and completed 12334 steps of the morning walk. 12k, so halfway done on yesterday's promise. Will do remaining 12k steps in the evening. Also one more rule, I can no longer give sun and heat as an excuse no more, if I wake up late, it's on me.

Quoted post

Just finished doing 11912 steps of the evening walk, so have lived up to my promise of yesterday. Legs are hurtin like a mf though, idk if I'll be able to walk tomorrow, I'll try to, if I don't I'll rest and do the steps in the evening. Holyy I'm so tired. Bye.

Day 55: Woke up at 5:15 am, couldn't walk without legs hurting like a mf so decided to rest, will complete the 10k steps in the evening.

Day 56: woke up at 6 am and completed 9988 steps of the morning walk, usual 10k marks IRL just ran up a little bit. First thing I'll buy when I become employed again is to buy a watch that counts steps better. Actually it's second, first is anthropics 200$ plan

Quoted post

This is coming up nicely now. Managed to make the provider switch from openrouter to opencode and vice versa while maintaining context, I have to keep track of the conversation myself, and opencode hasn't been fun to work with, their cli API is unnecessarily cumbersome to work with.

Quoted post

Also, I've been exploring if I should make a LSP-like architecture where opencode, openrouter (and all other future providers) talk to the promotr app via stdin/stdout. So plugins can be written in any language for any provider. Hmm. Is it even worth it?

Also, I need to implement at least two most necessary "tools" for openrouter that opencode used to do by default, WebFetch and WebSearch (and maybe read-only filesystem access) too.

And opencode's --agent too.

Then the openrouter integration would be truly complete.

It's wild that context is just a fifo queue. I wonder why most LLMs are stuck at 1M context length, does it get expensive to maintain because for 1M+1st message you need all 1M+1 messages to be sent? Hmm.

Day 57: woke up at 6:30 am and completed 10180 steps of the morning walk. Same IRL markers as yesterday. The feeling of laziness is creeping back in, and the excuse of "I'll walk in the evening, let me sleep a bit more" is growing stronger, I don't want that.

Quoted post

The good thing is, I managed to overcome the laziness today, even though I had to walk in the sun's heat. Hopefully I'll be able to do so tomorrow too.

Day 58: woke up at 6:40 am and completed 10157 steps of the morning walk, same markers IRL as yesterday, but ~400m of running. Same struggle as yesterday about getting out of bed. Idk why my sleep has increased by an hour though. Wtf.

Quoted post

Alright, I've just realized I've been contemplating to write another devlog for 15 days now, it's always "let me squeeze this one thing in promptr before i write another post" and then I forget about it and remember about it when I'm afk. Wtf again.

Wednesday, June 17, 2026

Day 59: managed to wake up early today, at 5:20 am and completed 10474 steps of the morning walk. Only 5.5 hours of sleep today. Didn't feel lazy / sad today even though nothing special has happened.

Day 62: woke up at 5:15 am and completed 10615 steps of the morning walk. I think the sleep schedule is now adjusted to waking up at 5:30 am, it's nice to complete the walk before the heat.

Quoted post

I have hit a roadblock in developing promptr and don't really know what I should do. idk why opencode does "html" to "markdown" conversion in their WebFetch tool call, I think I'll skip that or just write a naive parser that just strips away html tags or something. hmm.

Now I can see why JS ecosystem is this big and almost all agent harnesses use javascript. Is it because if you do it in some other language you eventually end up implementing something like JS yourself? Idk, I have no choice.

I've also hit this https://xkcd.com/927/ moment, because there's no standard way for the yaml frontmatter properties of perms of tool calls between let's say claude-code / codex and opencode, so my app also has to create a new competing standard.

Hmm, also now my app becomes harmful for the first time -> read only file system access. I'll probably steal impl from pi and opencode. but again I'm only using deepseek flash so reliability is kinda low.

Day 63: woke up at 5 am and completed 10112 steps of the morning walk. I'm having a bi-yearly distrohopping itch now, want to move to either fedora or arch for no reason

Quoted post

Actually I lied, there's 1 small reason, just hoping for better font rendering atp, I don't understand fonts in linux enough to know what I've done to my system by running some scripts from the internet, the fonts are clearer, but bolder)

Day 64: woke up at 5:10 am in the morning and completed 10786 steps of the morning walk. It was cloudy today, felt nice.

Quoted post

Overall feeling very sad since yesterday, because of unemployment. I think I'll do even more vibecoding to distract myself from this reality.

Day 65: woke up at 6 am in the morning and completed 10115 steps of the morning walk. Forgot to post in the morning.

Quoted post

I've started a new extra thing today, reading at least 10 pages of any book. This one is going to be harder because reading books, especially non-academic is very boring, counter-intuitive and "a thing of the past".

Let's see how it goes.

Day 66: woke up at 5:30 am in the morning and completed 10331 steps of the morning walk. It's been cloudy for the past 5 days, so nice.

Quoted post

Currently hard to get the kindle and focus for the first few paragraphs. So, one more "breaking the initial resistance" ult.

Ok it's too early to boast, day 2 is easy, maybe we'll see after 7-14-21 days.

Day 67: sixx seveennnnnnn. Woke up at 5:40 am in the morning and completed 10595 steps of the morning walk. Clouds are gone, heat is back. F.

Day 68: woke up at 5:25 am and completed 10397 steps of the morning walk. Been busy for the past 3 days. Also, done with another chapter from atomic habits. This chapter 3 felt like larping ngl, some things feel handwavey (sorry for vagueposting). Maybe things will make sense later. Hmm.

Quoted post

So if I'm understanding the chapter right, in my experiment, there's no cue and craving, so according to the author it's not sustainable.

Or maybe the reward part is I get to post about it. Which cues the 10k steps morning walk, hence the craving and the response.

Either way, posting about my progress is proving to be essential in this "streak". Can't wait to get to 3 digit days. 😇

Saturday, June 27, 2026

Day 69: niceu. Woke up at 5:20 am in the morning and completed 11535 steps of the morning walk. 1k extra today. There's bad news though, I've caught a cold now, probably fever too, and I feel weak. Shouldn't have continued cold water showers when the weather changed from hot asf to cloudy.

Quoted post

I'll still try tomorrow, if I don't have a fever by then, but will allow myself to exit early. This is just sad. I should've been more careful.
